Katya Gruzglina is a soprano & psychotherapist for the creative community based in New York City.

Bio.

Katya is a soprano, voice teacher, and psychotherapist who works with couples, individuals in creative fields, and members of the queer community. She remains an active ensemble singer with a particular interest in early music and contemporary repertoire.

An alum of The Juilliard School and Rice University, Katya is an auxiliary member of the Los Angeles Master Chorale and has sung with Seraphic Fire, De Angelis Vocal Ensemble, Harmonia Stellarum, Cal Poly Bach Festival, and Victoria Bach Festival. Her contemporary work includes performances with The Focus Festival, Center for Contemporary Opera, and WildUp, with appearances at venues ranging from National Sawdust to The Hollywood Bowl.

Before transitioning to her career as a therapist, Katya served on the voice faculty at Lone Star College, Fullerton College, and California College of Music. Her current research interests include the intersection of voice disorders and mental health, particularly how psychological distress can manifest in or impact the voice.
